Jason Wood
Jason Wood is a Midwestern artist, with Outer Space ideas. Using mostly found or free (stolen) materials, he builds aesthetically pleasing objects, while showing emphasis on the actual material used. By skipping metaphors and representational ideas he concentrates on honesty and delivering a direct visual statement. Along with small assemblages’ and Blind contour drawings, Jason also explores his self created worlds of synthetic/nature environmental installations, and experiments with making noise into music. Jason graduated with a BFA from the Corcoran College of Art and Design, and he lives and works in Alton, Illinois.
